Mr. Micha Harish, Former Minister of Economy, honored us with his presence, along with senior officials from local authorities, the business sector, and management members of the Chamber.
All attendees were treated with a festive gift of Hrein (radish), personally prepared by Mr. Ronen Nissan, a member of the executive board.
Dr. Adv. Gideon Fisher, President of the Israel-Romania Chamber of Commerce & Industry, delivered the following speech during the Chamber's festive toast reception, hosted by the Chairman of the Israel Export Institute, Mr. Avi Balashnikov. In his remarks, Dr. Fisher expressed gratitude to the many partners supporting the Chamber's activities in Israel and Romania, and extended warm holiday wishes ahead of Passover:
"First, on behalf of the Chamber, we wish to express our gratitude to the honorable Chairman of the Export Institute, Mr. Avi Balashnikov, for the wonderful support. Today’s hospitality is a direct continuation of the important initiatives we are advancing together.
Many thanks to all the distinguished individuals who support us at the Chamber on an ongoing and commendable basis, and I will now switch to English to greet His Excellency, the Ambassador:
Bună seara, We are honored by the presence of His Excellency, the Ambassador of Romania to Israel, Mr. Radu Ioanid. Your willingness to assist and promote business activity, within the framework of the special partnership between our two countries, is deeply appreciated .Mulțumesc
Mulțumesc also to our esteemed Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency Dr. Lior Ben Dor.
It is especially appropriate to note His Excellency, the Israeli Ambassador to Romania, Dr. Lior Ben Dor, whose assistance – ahead of the recent business delegation’s arrival in Bucharest, which I had the honor to lead – was matched only by his moving support during the actual visit: at the Prime Minister’s Office, in two meetings with the Minister of Economy, and in the other important meetings we successfully held – all thanks to his good advice and effective guidance.
With your permission, I would like to briefly return to the beginning of the process that preceded my election as President of the Chamber and to thank Mr. Micha Harish, former Minister of Economy, for the trust he placed in me, as well as the esteemed CEO in recent years, Mr. Armand Schor. Our distinguished guests, though you are eager to pass the torch to the next generation, we are grateful that you are ready to assist with every call and request.
My first steps at the Chamber gained further significance thanks to Mr. Dani Katrivas, Chairman of the Association of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce, who is here with us today, and the professional cooperation with the legendary CEO, Yoram Eldar.
I wish to thank my deputy, Ms. Sara Kremer Grunhaus, who works tirelessly, day and night, is responsive to every idea and request, initiates and brings projects and opportunities for cooperation – and ensures successful execution.
This is an opportunity to thank all my friends, here and elsewhere, including veteran and newly joined members of the executive board, who respond to my call and even offer blessed ideas, all for the same purpose – in the business sector, in diplomacy – led by Ron Gerstenfeld from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – and Yaron Schreter from the Ministry of Economy, as well as in other government ministries, headed by Mr. Omer Shechter, Director General of the Ministry of Science – and also elected officials, President of the Manufacturers Association Dr. Ron Tomer, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce Mr. Shahar Turgeman, and, as mentioned, first and foremost, the honorable Chairman of the Export Institute Mr. Avi Balashnikov, who embraces our work, and Mr. Marian Cohen, Chairman of the Council of the Manufacturers Association of Israel.
I invite you all to raise a glass – Happy Holiday! חג שמח – Sărbători fericite And as everyone holds a glass of wine, Rabbi Gloiberman will bless us for a holiday of freedom – especially for the sake of all the hostages still in Gaza."
